Volex Labs / Forge / Box section tube generator — text to CAD.

Box section tube generator — text to CAD.

Describe the tube — outside width, outside height, wall thickness and length — and Volex Forge builds the hollow section as one solid and returns a STEP, STL or DXF.

Square and rectangular both work from the same sentence. The bore is cut right through, so the part is genuinely hollow and weighs what the section weighs — not a solid bar with the right outline.

Frequently asked

RHS or SHS?
Both. Give two different outside dimensions for a rectangular hollow section, or the same number twice for a square one.
Are the corners radiused?
No — the corners are square, inside and out. A hot-rolled RHS has a corner radius of roughly 1.5–2.5 times the wall; if that matters for your fit, model it in afterwards or say so in the prompt.
Is it hollow all the way through?
Yes. The bore is cut the full length and the measured volume reflects it, so the mass you get from the STEP is the section mass, not a solid bar.
Which format should I use?
STEP for CAD and CNC, STL for 3D printing, DXF for the 2D outline.
